Linear Equation

A linear equation is an equality in which each variable appears to the first power and is multiplied by a constant coefficient. It has the general form:

$$a_1{x}_1+a_2{x}_2+a_3{x}_3+\cdots +a_n{x}_n=b$$

Where:

• $x_i$ are variables
• $a_i$ are constant coefficients
• $b$ is a constant term

Example:

$$5x_1-7x_2+x_3=11$$

Note: highest power is 1 for each unknown
