Basis via Dimension

Let $H$ be a subspace of ${\mathbb{R}}^n$. Then, let $p$ be the dimenion of $H$. We can then assert that:

1. A linearly independent set of $p$ vectors $H$ is a basis for $H$.
2. A set of $p$ vectors in $H$ that span $H$ is a basis for $H$.
